Everett J.R. Lane

Everett “Jr” Lane of Bloomington passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Hearthstone Health Campus at the age of 84. Everett was born in Medora, Indiana on June 11, 1931 into the home of Everett and Rhoda (Baker) Lane. He was married to Sandra (Hudson) Ray-Lane for 27 years. Everett served in the US Army during the Korean War. Everett retired from Mitchell and Stark Construction Co. as a superintendent. He was a self-employed businessman after retirement. He was a member of the Ellettsville Masonic Lodge #245, the Scottish Rite, the Murat Shriner's, the American Legion and the Bethel Baptist Church. Everett enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, farming, racing, boating and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Eugene Lane; sister, Waneta Meyers; infant sister, Eugenia Lane; and son-in-law J.B. Robinson. Everett is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Lane; daughters, Rachael Lane (Dan Ferry) of Bloomington, Rita Lane of Nashville, and Becky Robinson of Bloomington; son, Jon Lane (Kriszta) of Naples, FL; step-daughter, Charity Cowden (Roger) of Bloomington; grandchildren, David Mitchell, Scotty Mitchell, Shawna Waterford, Stephanie Waterford, Andrew Beeman, Audrey Morgan (Michael), Bethany Robinson (John Galligan), Kent Robinson (Sarah Landrum), Kristof Lane, Madison Cowden, and Curtis Cowden; great-grandchildren, Gavin Hillenburg, Gracie Morris, Joviana Harris, Carter Morgan, Carlee Morgan, Will Stevens, and Magnolia Galligan; brother, Max Lane (Rosalie) of Bedford; and nephews, Michael and Marty Myers and Greg and Jeff Lane. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverend Maurice Wright officiating. Burial is to follow at Methodist Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 4-8 and again on Saturday from 12-2 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospitals, 2900 N. Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607 or The Lymphoma Society, 3 International Dr., Ste: 200, Rye Brook, NY 10573; or Bethel Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
