Rebecca Jo “Becky” Withem left to be with the Lord, Sunday August 17th at 8:30 pm while surrounded by her loving family and friends. Becky was so grateful for the job at GE that the Lord gave her 28 years ago and her friends from GE are encouraged to come and say their final goodbye to our bouncy, giving, and jubilant Becky. Regardless of where she spent her time, playing Canasta with friends and family, venturing to the Casinos, or making “crack” tea for all she knew and loved, Becky was all about the wonderful people in her life. She is preceded in death by her older sisters: Sybil Withem (Butcher), and Cheryl Withem (Newforth), brothers-in-law: James (Jimbo) Butcher, William (Bill) Newforth, and her father Paris Withem. She is survived by her siblings: Peter Withem, Nona Withem (Mobley), Alice Withem (Huff), Joel Withem, Tim Withem, and Stephen Withem. Becky’s kids were always her dogs as the Lord did not give her any children of her own and Etti and Pari will join us in saying their last good-byes to Becky. Her nieces and nephews have grown to 16; great nieces and nephews are now 44, and there are 16 great-great nieces and nephews with one on the way. She adored all of her cousins who are too numerous to mention. Services will be held at Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville at 2:00 on Thursday, August 21, 2014. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 20, 2014 from 5:00-7:00, and again Thursday from Noon to 2:00 at the funeral home. During the graveside committal service at Riverside Cemetery we will honor Becky’s request to dip our hands in rainbow colored finger-paints and place them on her coffin. There will be a wake to celebrate her new life with the Father immediately following the graveside committal service at her home she shared with her Mother, Esther Withem (96). All who are available to join us in rejoicing in her happy and joyful life are encouraged to attend. Becky requested that in lieu of flowers, friends and family make a donation to their favorite charities in her name.
